Tbilisi International Airport is celebrating another major success. The Airports Council International (ACI) has honored Shota Rustaveli Tbilisi International Airport with awards in five categories across Europe. According to the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) passenger survey, Tbilisi Airport was named best in  most dedicated staff, easiest airport journey, most enjoyable airport, cleanest airport and in airports at departures categories. These awards were granted among airports handling up to 5 million passengers annually.

Airports Council International (ACI) presents its Customer Experience Awards each year. It is the only global benchmarking program that measures passenger satisfaction while travelers are physically present at the airport, ensuring the most accurate snapshot of the journey at every stage. Each year, airports that receive the highest passenger ratings across different components are recognized. In 2025, the council named top-performing airports in six categories, and Tbilisi Airport earned recognition in five of them. ACI collected the data for the analysis over a two-year period.

“Maintaining a high standard of customer experience and receiving international recognition amid unprecedented passenger growth is the result of our team’s daily, tireless work, and we are very proud of this achievement. This year we are launching the airport expansion project, which will increase passenger capacity to up to 10 million. This is a very timely investment. Starting from 2028, the upgraded infrastructure will allow us to offer passengers even more comfortable service and an enhanced travel experience,” said Tea Zakaradze, General Manager of TAV Georgia, the management company of Tbilisi and Batumi airports.

The official 2025 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards ceremony will take place in Istanbul on September 2 at the ACI World Airport Experience Summit.

On January 15, 2026, the Government of Georgia extended the operating term of TAV Airports, a member of the French aviation group ADP. Under the new agreement, USD 150 million will be invested in the expansion of Tbilisi International Airport.
