SCAT Airlines transported its first passengers from Shymkent, Kazakhstan, to Tbilisi International Airport. The newly launched route will operate on a regular basis, with flights scheduled twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays. On 15 December, the inaugural flight on the Shymkent–Tbilisi–Shymkent route was operated using a Boeing 737 aircraft. To mark the occasion, TAV Georgia, the operator of Tbilisi and Batumi International Airports, hosted a symbolic inaugural ceremony at Tbilisi International Airport. The introduction of the Shymkent route represents the fifth destination connecting Kazakhstan with Tbilisi International Airport. In addition to Shymkent, regular flights from Tbilisi are currently operated to Almaty, Astana, Atyrau, and Aktau.
SCAT Airlines also operates flights from Tbilisi International Airport to Aktau. On this route, the airline deploys Boeing 737 and CRJ-200 aircraft, with services operated three times per week. In addition, SCAT Airlines operates flights from Batumi International Airport. SCAT Airlines is a Kazakhstan-based airline and one of the key air transport operators in Central Asia and beyond. The carrier operates flights to approximately 60 destinations, with Shymkent International Airport serving as its primary hub. Shymkent is one of Kazakhstan’s largest and fastest-growing cities, located in the southern part of the country near the border with Uzbekistan. It is the third-largest city in Kazakhstan after Astana and Almaty and serves as a major industrial, commercial, and cultural hub.
