In response to the growing passenger traffic, TAV Georgia, the management company of Tbilisi and Batumi International Airports, is actively advancing infrastructure development to maintain the provision of high-quality services. Notably, the immigration zone at the arrival terminal of Tbilisi International Airport has been expanded, and additional passport control booths have been installed.
Specifically, the number of passport control booths has increased from 9 to 13, while the area leading to the border booths has been enlarged from 640 to 925 m². Additionally, in the departure terminal, the immigration zone has been extended from 180 to 530 m², and the number of passport control booths has also risen from 9 to 13. A fast-track corridor has been introduced to facilitate access to the border booths.
TAV Georgia has invested over 4 million GEL in these infrastructural enhancements. In 2024, passenger traffic at Tbilisi International Airport reached an unprecedented peak, with the airport serving a total of 4,750,830 passengers. This represents a 29% increase in passenger traffic compared to 2023. The expanded facilities and additional booths will enable the airport to enhance border processing capacity and significantly improve the quality of passenger services.
